Fitness balls can be very fun to use in your workout, and there are many uses for them. I have found a few uses that combine fun and exercise, and none of them involve using the fitness ball as a chair. Usually, these balls are used for support and balance to increase the intensity of the workout. No matter what area you are working out, incorporating the fitness ball will give you more enjoyment as well as better fitness, and any body part can be used.

Imagine using a fitness ball to push against the wall to increase muscle mass in your arms and shoulders, or doing squats while balancing the ball in front of your body. An exercise called the ab stretch can help you strengthen your core and abs, but great balance is necessary if you don't want to take a spill. This exercise can build you up faster if your equilibrium is great and you have the balance or lives of a cat. There are others exercises I do with my fitness ball, like the abdominal ball raise and rotation, that help my flexibility as well as my muscles, plus they are just plain fun to do. Using a fitness ball makes me feel like a kid again, playing with a ball instead of working hard at getting fit. This helps me stick to my routine, and sometimes even look forward to it. After I use the fitness ball I can shower and relax, with all my stress melted away leaving me feeling refreshed and upbeat. The fitness ball adds some amusement and play into my boring workout, giving my spirits a lift that keeps me going. I usually use my fitness ball first thing in the morning, because the lift I get from it helps to make my days brighter and more enjoyable, as well as boosting my metabolism for the remainder of the day.
