Life is about choices... Why should fitness be any different?

Home Gyms

Home gyms are an excellent way to get and stay in shape, and there are a few tips that I have found to help make using them more enjoyable and less uncomfortable, without using chocolate or sweets as an incentive. Before I even start my workout I always lay a big absorbent towel down on my home gym, as this will absorb the sweat and keep me from slipping and sliding all over the bench while I am trying to exercise. Nothing is more annoying than starting at the top of the bench and finishing near the foot because of the sweat slide factor.

Another helpful tip is to keep a container of baby powder or chalk dust near the home gym. I liberally apply the powder to my palms before I start my workout, allowing me to grip the equipment better once the sweat starts to flow, and anyone who exercises regularly knows that this occurs quickly. It can be frustrating when my hands keep slipping off because they are slick with sweat and oils, and the powder absorbs all this. Music playing in the room can help to elevate your mood and it makes my workout much more fun. I choose something that has a fast beat, to give me something to keep pace with during my workout. They say that music soothes the savage beast, but when I use it during my workout it gives me added stamina and makes my exercise seem like fun, instead of a chore that must be done. Imagine your favorite music playing while the sweat runs and your muscles ache, but instead of feeling exhausted you feel upbeat and energized. This allows me to work out for a longer period, and I even look forward to my workout sessions on my home gym now.
