Unlike some people, I am not trying to bulk up. Instead, as a woman, I want to create long lean lines and perfectly toned muscles. It is a myth that anyone who lifts weights will grow very bulky, and I am proof that this is not the case. I lift moderate weights to boost my metabolism, and in this day what woman does not wish for a higher metabolism? I burn fat at a faster rate and lose weight faster, and as Martha Stewart would say “ It's a good thing”. My weight lifting equipment is one of my favorite workout things, and I really enjoy the time I spend on it. There are a few tricks that I use while lifting weights to help relieve the tedium of the workout, and music is the biggest. I like something with a heavy beat and a rhythm that I can coordinate my lifts to. This allows me to keep time to the music and pace myself, while ensuring that I get a terrific workout. Weight lifting equipment has helped me sculpt my body and shape the way I feel when I look in a mirror, and to me that is worth any price. My equipment did not cost me more than a few hundred for a great quality set, and I have never regretted paying this price.
